Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenAt the age of 27, he was enrolled at the National Theatre School of Denmark where he graduated in 1995. Apart from his role in the drama series that was released internationally as The Killing, he subsequently was a part of two other critically well-known Danish drama series, Those Who Kill and Borgen III.He also had a leading role in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as a blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. He played the Russian president in the American television show House of Cards. He received an International Emmy Award for 2018 for his part in the Danish TV drama Herrens Veje. It was broadcast in the UK in 2019 under the name Ride Upon the Storm. Mikkelsen is proficient in English, Swedish and German. He can also speak various accents. Mikkelsen stated that his brother and he learned English first by listening to Monty Python recordings and watching comedy sketches.
