Hossack lived in Steinbach Manitoba, Canada. She was raised in Killarney Manitoba and took part in musical theatre plays while a student. She was originally a pianist at the time she started with her Brandon University studies. Her major changed into Voice. She then tried drama and in the end, she said that she was only interested performing by the time she completed her graduation. When she graduated from Brandon, she studied at Banff School of Fine Arts. In the years following her completion of her college studies, Hossack performed on the stage at The Muskoka Festival in Ontario as well as the Rainbow Stage at Winnipeg.
