Awkwafina is an American performer and actress. She began by releasing hilarious, intelligently composed lyrics in rap that dealt with questions of racial identity and sexual orientation. She then expanded her fan base to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents who hail from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was her first instrument. In the following years, she took up hip-hop and classical training. In the end, she focused on her education. she was awarded a degree in journalism in university and also a women's study major. It wasn't until she graduated that her focus shift to music. The track My Vag, a response track to the Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity on the Internet in 2012. It was eventually included in the album debut Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The album also included songs that were viral such as body positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown New York Bitche$. Alongside early TV shows such as Girl Code and Tawk she was also featured in movies such as Neighbors 2. Storks as well as Bad Rap.
